Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using OwnBite ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service. OwnBite is operated by Omnivurse LLC ("we", "us", "our").

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By registering, you represent that the information you provide is accurate and that you will keep it up to date.

2. Description of Service

OwnBite is a cooking community: you can post what you cook, save and cook recipes from other people, share your own version of a recipe, and use optional AI-assisted tools. The Service includes both free and paid subscription tiers.

Important: OwnBite is a place to cook and share food. Recipes, food scans and AI suggestions are not medical or dietary advice, diagnosis or treatment. If you have a medical condition, a food allergy or a worry about eating, talk to a qualified professional.

3. Subscriptions & Billing

Paid subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually): through Stripe on the website, or through the App Store or Google Play in the iPhone and Android apps. By subscribing, you authorize the charge at the agreed intervals. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.

You may cancel your subscription at any time: a website plan from your account settings, an App Store or Google Play plan in your Apple ID or Google Play subscriptions (at least 24 hours before the period ends). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No prorated refunds are provided for mid-cycle cancellations unless required by applicable law; refunds for App Store and Google Play purchases are handled by Apple and Google under their own policies.

We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' advance notice. Existing subscribers will be notified via email before any price change takes effect.

4. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Keep your login credentials secure and not share your account
• Use the Service only for lawful purposes
• Not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Service
• Not upload content that is harmful, misleading, or violates third-party rights
• Comply with community guidelines when posting recipes, comments, or challenges

5. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, AI models, and branding associated with OwnBite are the property of Omnivurse LLC and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You retain ownership of content you create (recipes, photos, diary entries). By submitting content to community features, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display it within the Service.

6. AI & Health Disclaimer

OwnBite uses artificial intelligence to read food photos, suggest recipes and meal plans, and answer cooking questions. AI outputs are estimates and can be wrong. They are not medical or dietary advice.

We work to keep them accurate but cannot guarantee that AI-generated recipes, ingredient lists, allergen notes or nutrition numbers are error-free. Always check ingredients and labels yourself, especially for allergies. You are responsible for decisions you make based on the Service's outputs.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, OwnBite and Omnivurse LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, health outcomes, or business opportunities arising from your use of the Service.

Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service during the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that harms the Service or other users.

You may delete your account at any time from You › Settings › Your data. Deletion is immediate and permanent: it cancels a subscription you pay for on the website and removes your data, and it cannot be undone. A subscription bought in the App Store or Google Play is not cancelled by deleting your account; cancel it there first. If you want a copy, download your data from the same place first, or ask us to export it for you before you delete.

When your account ends, your right to use the Service ends immediately.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance.
